1,000.044th Anniversary of Art

Could you think of a better way of celebrating Art’s birthday than a world wide party? The chance of doing whatever you want in the name of art and the opportunity of sharing it with people from Tokyo to Vancouver. This year’s gift from artists to their dearest friend was a common action that gathered people from very different places thanks to Internet.

 Filliou

We had the opportunity of attending one of these parties in Brussels, organised by OKNO. In connection with Prague, we could enjoy performances, live music, food, drinks and the event web streaming. A real homage to the man who 44 years ago settled 17th January like 1,000.000 Art’s anniversary, the French artist Robert Filliou. One of his aims was to create a universal network of artists, an objective that we can feel today nearest than never thanks to the new technologies.

 OKNO

Not only museums, galleries, organisations, but also websites, chats, communities, blogs… A new era and a new way of communicating and doing art. A lot of things happening world wide.
