LAb[au] is happy to announce its new urban artwork: "Who's afraid of Red, Green and Blue?", a generative light-art series for Dexia Tower's 4200 windows.
"Who's afraid of Red, Green and Blue?" is a cycle of time-based illuminations displayed on the Dexia Tower in Brussels, Belgium.

The series consists in 6 variations, each lasting 2 months.

Variation 1: chronotower

Red=Hour, Green=Minutes, Blue=seconds _ 15.08.2007 > 15.10.2007

The first artwork of the series is established through the display of a graphical time-construct while using RGB as a code for hours ( = Red ), minutes ( = Green ) and seconds ( = Blue ).

From sunset to sunrise, actual time will be displayed on the tower through a logic of additive blended color-surfaces, constructing upwards towards midnight when reaching the ultimate add of colored light; white. A white pulse celebrates the new day, from which up light progressively will be returned to the sky.
