EXHIBITIONS
Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven Nothing More Natural
Wiels organizes the first major survey exhibition of the drawings and films Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven has created since 1975. Over the last thirty years, Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven’s drawings have formed the basis of an ambitious oeuvre that explores the relations between gender, technology and representation. This exhibition re-evaluates these works in relation to the artist’s career and in relation to the surrealist heritage, subcultures and comics.

Kelley Walker
Wiels presents the first monograhic exhibition of the American artist, Kelley Walker, in Belgium. Together with artists like Wade Guyton, Seth Price or Josh Smith, with whom he regularly collaborates, Walker belongs to a new generation of American artists which has emerged since the year 2000 and which writes a new chapter in the history of American pop art. Authors rights, art consumption modes, the contamination of the body and the mind by mass communication are some of the themes explored by his work, not through criticism, but through proposition and very sophisticated formal and conceptual systems. The exhibition presents a  group of works which retrace the artist’s evolution as well as new works in an original installation conceived by the artist as an artwork itself.

Every Wednesday from 2 pm to 5 pm : From fashion design to animation movies, from drawing to modelling, young contemporary artists show the children different techniques en let them discover the universe and the language of contemporary art through the running exhibitions.
