This week, the opening of MAREADOS, an exhibition by the Spanish artists JARR & JESÚS AZOGUE, will take place at the charismatic MAAC, Maison d’Art Actuel des Chartreux of Brussels Council.
The show is curated by Centrifugarte Group (Alejandro Villar, Manuel Garrido y David Brieva). It confronts two differnet conceptions of contemporary art: the baroc objectuality and the sharp iconography of JARR’s work and the conceptual minimalism of the audiovisual work of Jesús Azogue.

In this exhibition will be presented for the first time the Serie Barroco by JARR, where he makes a research in the traditional techniques of gold leaf and other expression methods rising from the post pop iconography. Also for the first time will be presented the serie Social Manners by Jesús Azogue, a group of interactive video-creations inspired by dark painting tradition, that tries to create a dialogue with the viewer.
The exhibition counts also with the interactive installation e-tree, an interactive project that took place for the first time at the Nuit Blanche of Metz and Brussels the 2nd and 3rd of October 2009.
Visitors and people from the web will be able to insert text to the system, which will make a tree grow. All these messages are published on a twitter account (http://twitter.com/e_tree) to be reviewed afterwards.
